Meet Dr. Lili Becktell, Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Lili Becktell is the owner and veterinarian at Epic Tails Veterinary Hospital, which she proudly opened on March 24, 2025. She graduated in 2021 from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she developed a deep passion for meaningful connections with people and their pets. Her journey in veterinary medicine has been fueled by a lifelong love for animals and their people, and motivated by a desire to provide gold-standard medical care in an accessible way.
Outside of work, Dr. Becktell cherishes time with her husband, son, six cats, four chickens, and a horse. Her pastimes include attending Charlotte FC games as a season ticket holder, reading, and horseback riding. She would love nothing more than to meet you, learn more about you and your pets, and welcome you into the Epic Tails family!
Expertise and Specialties
Dr. Becktell is passionate about preventative medicine from snout to tail, focusing on keeping pets healthy before issues arise. She combines traditional Western veterinary medicine with holistic and Eastern practices, ensuring a well-rounded approach to care. Her key areas of interest include palliative and geriatric care, pain management, and internal medicine and complex disease. Dr. Becktell is particularly passionate about low-stress handling techniques, cat-friendly protocols, and mental health and wellbeing of both veterinary team and client.
Meet Dr. Emily Bishop, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Bishop is truly excited to be a part of the Epic Tails team. She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 (go Hokies!) and is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. Her passions include surgery, internal medicine, and dentistry. Dr. Bishop believes in a collaborative approach to come up with a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to each specific pet’s needs. Outside of work, she enjoys hanging out with her two dogs and exploring new restaurants in Charlotte!
